377 Calories of Filling Goodness

-3oz Sirloin w/ Grilled Onions 169
-1 Cousa Squash 19C
-5 Baby Bella's  20C
-3/4 C. Brown & Wild Rice from Birds-Eye 143C
-1 Small Red Potato 20C
- 1/4 C. Spinach 6C

So, the Boy is not here since he's on Spring Break. And the hubby doesn't make me cook if I don't wanna. ( Aren't you all jealous?) So what's a Fat Betty to do when she doesn't want to cook? I for one- improvise.

The sirloin with onions, potato, and spinach all came from my half of a leftover meal from when the Hubby and I went to Applebee's yesterday. Trick for eating out? ALWAYS, and I repeat, ALWAYS eat half your meal. ALWAYS, order a side salad. No cheese, no croutons, no bacon bits. No fun right? I say save the calories, those things aren't going to fill me up and I'd rather eat something that will. So NO!........... please?

I cut up one cousa summer squash.
Cut 5 baby bella's in half.
Cut a bag of frozen birds eye brown and wild rice and measured out 1 cup.
Put it all on plate and hit it with a few sprays of " I Can't believe it's Not Butter" 0 Calorie Spray, some seasoning salt, garlic, pepper, and Adobo and popped it in the microwave. 5 Minutes.
I heated up the steak for a minute ( Because I detest well done meat) separately

I'm STUFFED. For under 400 calories. Of really healthy things. And it took me less than 10 minutes. With stuff I had on hand. Unplanned. 

 
I eat out. It's really a relaxing thing for me. I grew up going out to eat. I eat a lot of varied things. It's not really ever fast food. I'd much rather go to a family diner, or a nice sit down place and have a leisurely meal . And just because I'm changing WHAT I eat- doesn't mean I have to exactly change WHERE I eat. Plus, I'm not really picky. Everyone else around me is. 

I'm notorious for asking "What do you want? Where are we going?"- at least according to my DH. 

I rely on My Fitness Pal when I'm on the go, but when I'm at home or work I'm able to check out the actual restaurants site or a couple of the larger sites that offer nutrition details.

Nutritionix
This is great for checking on Nutrition on everything from restaurants to packaged food and they list a lot of stuff from the USDA database. I think it has the most restaurants yet. Even my Starbucks. But the best is the NUTRITION CALCULATOR. You make how you order, your way and it adds even in all your extras. So you go in and order it how it works for you. ( Ok, not everyone has the calculator yet- Starbucks doesn't- but most do)

Just Diet Now
Is a bit more intriquite. It goes more into actual fitness. It has calculators for BMI's, Charts, Calorie Calculators, Exercise Calculators, and it is geared towards Weight Watcher followers in my opinion, But it has Blogs that are interesting. 

LiveStrong
Is such a great tool, I could get lost for Hours. Hours. Everything from information about supplements, vitamins, food, calories, cooking tips, exercise tips, i mean. The wealth of information is so extensive I'm sure you could browse that website for a week without duplicating pages.

So it's February. Again- the BOY is not here so It's a go on whatever for dinner. I call the DH to see what the Subway order will be.

I forgot to check out the calorie stats before I went since it was last minute. 
Turkey should be a safe one, as well as the plain ham. But Buffalo chicken is my favorite. And it's Febru-ANY. SO Any FOOTLONG is $5 dollars. I'm such a sucker for a good deal. So I ordered.

No Cheese
Add Everything- No Jalapenos. 
Equals= Lettuce, Tomato, Onions, Green Peppers, Spinach, Olives, Cucumbers

310 CALORIES

I checked my totals when I got home. I split my footlong in two. And each half was 310 calories. Surprisingly with the buffalo sauce- I didn't even need the extra dressing.
